Safety Issues
- Always pay attention.
- Train on a flat surface, free of clutter, with enough free space around you.
- Generate power through the hips, not the arms.
- Do not over-extend the wrist! The handle should rest against the palm of the hand, wrists kept in a neutral alignment.
- Do not round the back under a load.
- Do not overly arch your back or neck in the lock out position.
- In a overhead lockout position, do not shrug your shoulder up to your ear.
- Keep the knees tracking with the feet.
- Make sure you can always drop the kettlebell if things go wrong, preferably not on someone’s or your own foot.
- Do not over reach or try to recover an unbalanced rep, let the kettlebell drop.
- Keep moving in between sets, once the heart rate is high. It helps push the blood back to the heart without unnecessary stress.
